Her book about transnational mass tort litigation, \u201cThe Case for an International Court of Civil Justice,\u201d was published by Cambridge University Press in 2019 and her next monograph, \u201cLitigation Finance, Law Firm Ownership, and The Future of the Legal Profession\u201d has been accepted for publication by Cambridge University Press.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s6\"><span class=\"s2\">Professor Steinitz has been interviewed and cited by scores of leading news outlets globally, including\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">CBS\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Dfr2UnnlgE8\"><span class=\"s8\">60 Minutes<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s2\">,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">New York Times<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">Washington Post<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">Wall Street Journal<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">Financial Times<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">NBC<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">NPR<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">The Atlantic<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">Chicago Tribune<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">Reuters<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">Bloomberg<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">The American Lawyer<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s2\">Professor Steinitz\u2019s expertise in international law and dispute resolution is further exemplified by her significant engagement with the Middle East. This includes teaching appointments at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.columbia.edu\/news\/archive\/new-course-looks-israeli-palestinian-conflict-purely-legal-standpoint\"><span class=\"s9\">Columbia<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s2\"> Law School, where she co-taught a course on The Legal Aspects of the Israeli \u2013 Palestinian Conflict, designed as an \u201cimpartial, dispassionate look\u201d at the legal issues from both sides. She also <\/span><span class=\"s2\">served<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> as a Visiting Professor at Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she taught courses in international dispute resolution. She was instrumental to the establishment of the Israeli-Palestinian ICC Jerusalem Arbitration Center (JAC) and served on its inaugural bench. Her scholarship includes an in-progress monograph on the governance of holy sites in Jerusalem. Her recent service includes service on Boston University\u2019s working group on antisemitism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s6\"><span class=\"s2\">While in private practice, she led the representation of the emerging government of Southern Sudan in drafting its national and sub-national constitutions and provided legal advice on various aspects of the Sudanese peace process, in a representation which\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s7\">The American Lawyer<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/law\/files\/2023\/07\/The_Deal_Dec_1-14__2008_-1.pdf\"><span class=\"s9\">described<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s2\">\u00a0as \u201cone of the most ambitious international pro bono undertaking ever by a commercial law firm.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s2\">Professor Steinitz is a seasoned arbitrator with extensive experience in both private and public law, having served in over 100 arbitrations. Her representative matters include complex multibillion-dollar commercial disputes, sensitive NATO contracting, and a maritime boundary dispute.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s2\">A sought-after expert in litigation finance and the future of law firms, Professor Steinitz <\/span><span class=\"s2\">teaches a course on the topic at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hls.harvard.edu\/courses\/litigation-funding-law-firm-finance-and-the-future-of-the-legal-profession\/\"><span class=\"s9\">Harvard<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s2\"> Law School. She <\/span><span class=\"s2\">regularly <\/span><span class=\"s2\">testifies, <\/span><span class=\"s2\">advises<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> and speaks <\/span><span class=\"s2\">on the topic at<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> <\/span><span class=\"s2\">AmLaw<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> 100 firms, Fortune 500 corporations, <\/span><span class=\"s2\">financial institutions<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, and governments across the U.S. and internationally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s2\">Before joining academia, Professor Steinitz served as a litigator at Latham &amp; Watkins, LLP (2003-2009) and <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Flemming<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Zulack<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> &amp; Williamson LLP (2001-2002). She also clerked for the Hon.
