The Boston University School of Law facilities are only accessible to current members of the B.U. Community via Terrier Card swipe access, but Boston University alumni are welcome to visit the law libraries by appointment.<\/p>\n
To request an appointment, contact lawlib@bu.edu<\/a>, including your name, the dates\/times you would like to visit, and a brief description of your research needs. A member of our team will reply within 1-2 business days to confirm if we can accommodate your request or if any additional information is needed to best assist you during your visit.<\/p>\n When you arrive for your appointment, our team will assist you with access to the building and you\u2019ll then be asked to complete our alumni and visitor registration form, as well as present\u00a0your BU alumni card<\/a>\u00a0and a valid form of photo ID.<\/p>\n Our legal information librarians are available M-F 11am-3pm to<\/span> assist with legal research needs.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>To speak with a legal information librarian call 617-353-3151, <\/span><\/span>chat\u00a0us<\/span><\/span><\/a>, or submit a ticket<\/span><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n If you are looking to utilize electronic resources or databases, please submit a ticket<\/a>, explaining your research need and which databases you are hoping to utilize. A member of the library team will reply to discuss your access options. Unfortunately, due to vendor licenses most electronic resources available to Alumni are only accessible on-site through a law library computer terminal and some electronic resources and databases are only available to current law students, including Westlaw Precision, Lexis+, and Bloomberg Law. For more information on which databases and electronic resources are available to Alumni remotely, visit https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/library\/services\/alumni\/<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Alumni interested in borrowing materials from the law libraries should see the circulation desk to create an alumni library account.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Most items in the law libraries and other campus collections will circulate for 30 days at a time. Some materials designated library use-only may only be checked out and used within the library.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Scanners are available on all library floors and a document feeder for scanning is available on the 3<\/span>rd<\/span> floor.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The law libraries also provide scanning services for alumni. To request scans, complete the following form. Law library staff will evaluate your request for fair use compliance and reach out with any questions.
