{"id":72260,"date":"2020-08-20T10:41:41","date_gmt":"2020-08-20T14:41:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/law\/?page_id=72260"},"modified":"2024-10-25T08:58:01","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T12:58:01","slug":"committee-and-process","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/law\/about\/diversity\/classroom-climate\/committee-and-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Committee and Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Classroom Climate Committee (CCC)<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, charged with reviewing reports filed by students, is composed of the Dean, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, the Associate Dean for Academic Engagement, the Associate Dean of Clinical and Experiential Programs, and the Associate Dean for Equity, Justice and Engagement (Chair).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16251130,&quot;335559739&quot;:405}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The review process involves the following steps:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16251130,&quot;335559739&quot;:405}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">When a form (\u201creport\u201c) is received, the Chair transmits the report to the CCC and appoints a committee member who will lead the review.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16251130,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">If a CCC member is the subject of the report, then the member will recuse themselves from the review of this report.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16251130,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">The Chair and\/or the CCC member leading the review contacts the student who filed the report and meet with the student to:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16251130,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">Review the student\u2019s options to consult confidential resources and to seek support from the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Equal Opportunity Office, which may investigate and\/or provide supportive measures. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16251130,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">Review the process and explain how the CCC works and how other options on campus might overlap or offer different pathways for response.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16251130,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">If the student chooses to proceed, discuss the report. This may include\u00a0determining if there is additional information relevant to the report.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16251130,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">If the student has determined that they wish to proceed, the CCC meets to discuss the report and the proposed response (if any).
