These are just <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a few of the broad topics at the heart of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/law\/academics\/areas-of-study\/corporate-law-courses\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">corporate, business, and transactional law<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, a far-reaching practice area that encompasses <\/span><span aria-label=\"Rich text content control\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">all <\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the legal aspects of commercial activity.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span aria-label=\"Rich text content control paragraph\"><span aria-label=\"Rich text content control\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">With their choice of electives, first-year students<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> can delve deeper into more specific classes covering everything from antitrust and health care to art law, climate risk and financial institutions, intellectual property (IP) law, and business immigration. In addition, students can choose from a variety of transactional skills-based courses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span aria-label=\"Rich text content control paragraph\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">They can also represent clients in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/law\/experiential-learning\/clinics\/bu-mit-student-innovations-law-clinic\/\">BU\/MIT Student Innovations Law<\/a><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Clinic, which offers legal assistance to entrepreneurial BU and MIT students; work in-house at companies through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/law\/current-students\/jd-student-resources\/experiential-learning\/externships\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Corporate Counsel Externship<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">; or <\/span><span aria-label=\"Rich text content control\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/law\/academics\/jd-degree\/concentrations\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">concentrate<\/span><\/a><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> in Risk Management <\/span><span aria-label=\"Rich text content control\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&amp; <\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Compliance, Corporate Health Law, or <\/span><span aria-label=\"Rich text content control\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Transactional Practice<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span aria-label=\"Rich text content control\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For LLM students, BU Law also offers an LLM degree in Banking &amp; Financial Law, which is the only financial services LLM program in the country with its own faculty and a curriculum designed exclusively for graduate study. <\/span><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How do companies organize and govern themselves?
