In October 1872, sixty students joined the inaugural class at Boston University School of Law. The school swiftly earned its place at the forefront of legal education, pioneering advancements such as the sequenced, 3-year curriculum that is now the common standard for legal education in the United States. Today, BU Law is recognized among the top US law schools, with 25,000 alumni living in all fifty states and more than 100 countries around the world.<\/p>\n

Over the past 150 years, BU Law\u2019s faculty and alumni have made a profound impact. They have argued some of the nation\u2019s most consequential cases. They have advanced the cause of civil rights and equal justice for all people. They have fueled innovation in industries from mass media to technology to healthcare. They have fundamentally reshaped our nation\u2019s understanding of the law and, in some cases, literally changed the course of history.<\/p>\n

This fall, we will kick off a yearlong celebration of our sesquicentennial with an anniversary gala, coming together as one BU Law community to honor the school\u2019s legacy and envision its future.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The law school is offering\u00a0<\/span>100 free tickets to students who sign up to participate in a lottery.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Students will be selected at random from those who sign up.\u00a0<\/span>The lottery will <\/span>open <\/span>on\u00a0<\/span>Friday, September 9\u00a0<\/span>at noon and remain open until\u00a0<\/span>Monday, September 12\u00a0<\/span>at noon<\/b>. Students will be notified if they will receive a ticket to the gala by the end of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>day\u00a0<\/span>on\u00a0<\/span>Wednesday, September 14.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/p>\n
