Biography

Shira Megerman serves as a Senior Legal Information Librarian. She received her B.A. from the University of Texas, her J.D. from Washburn University School of Law, and her M.I.S.L.T. from the University of Missouri. She spent five years working at the University of Florida–Lawton Chiles Legal Information Center as the Student Services Reference Librarian. While there, she published articles on marketing and outreach, and worked closely with the student body at the law school to improve library services. She was one of the co-creators of the first year legal research course, and taught a section of advanced legal research. In addition to teaching, she assisted faculty in the family law, writing, and legal drafting departments. On a national level, she was the founder and first chair of the Jewish Law Librarians Caucus of the American Association of Law Libraries, as well as the first chair of the Volunteer Service Award Jury, and she won the AALL Marketing & Outreach Award, and Publications Award.
