Mr. Godfrey is a litigation partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he has practiced since 1979 and served as a litigation member of Kirkland’s Global Management Executive Committee from 1999 through 2015, having reached his maximum term limit. He has acted as trial and appellate counsel in a wide array of individual, multi-district and class action suits involving complex claims in some of the nation’s largest litigation matters over the past four decades. Mr. Godfrey also provides strategic litigation counseling to corporations and individuals. He has been a member of Boston University’s Board of Trustees since 2007, and is also a Trustee of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, The Newberry Library, and the American Air Museum in Britain, among others.
