Jurist in Residence Judge Robert W. Pratt
From September 16 to 27, 2024, The Honorable Robert W. Pratt joined Boston University School of Law as its first ever Jurist in Residence. Judge Pratt, an inactive United States District Judge for the Southern District of Iowa, served on the bench for over 26 years after being nominated by President Bill Clinton in 1997.

From 1982 to 2016, Stephen B. Bright served as director, and later president and senior council, of the Southern Center for Human Rights, a non-profit public interest law firm that worked to enforce the civil and human rights of people in the criminal justice system, particularly those facing the death penalty and challenging cruel and unusual incarceration conditions.
