Alerting Services

The library produces and subscribes to the following online publications to inform faculty of new books, articles, and symposium issues. All services are accessible with your BU login name and Kerberos password. Faculty members are alerted via email when new issues are published.

Book and Article Alerts

The BU Law Library Alerting Service provides customized email alerts to new materials matching your teaching and research interests.  Notifications of recently acquired electronic and print books, email delivery of Bloomberg Law email alerts, and links to pdf articles in journals chosen by you help to ensure you see materials in a timely manner.  Please Ask Us for pdfs of Bloomberg Law reports and journal Tables of Contents.  Your librarian liaison can assist in identifying titles if you are exploring a new research area.

Legal News Alerts

Legal news from Bloomberg BNA, Intelliconnect (CCH), and Law360 are available via weekday or weekly email alerts.  Your librarian liaison can assist you with setting up these alerting services.

  • Bloomberg Law email notifications:  Daily and weekly alerts covering 20 major topical areas.  By signing up to receive these alerts using your BU email address, you will receive highlights that easily link back to full text results accessible via your BU email login.
  • CCH via Cheetah: Provides email alerts in various topical areas covering business and finance, health law, labor and employment, tax and more.
  • Law360 email alerts:  Provides weekday alerts in the numerous areas of law such as appellate practice, bankruptcy, competition, contracts, corporate finance, employment, energy, environmental law, financial services, health, insurance, intellectual property, international trade, products liability, securities, technology and top general news.

RSS feeds may be used to follow blogs of interest or to receive alerts from Law360 or Cheetah  Your librarian liaison can provide assistance in setting up and using RSS feeds.

Lexis Advance, Westlaw and Bloomberg Law may be used to create automated searches with results delivered based on a schedule, format and method that you choose.  Please contact your librarian liaison for assistance in setting up these alerts.
