Below outlines the celebratory events marking this year’s class.
WHEN IS IT?
The BU Law Commencement ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at the Track and Tennis Center. A reception will follow immediately after the ceremony across the street on the Softball field.
The All-University Commencement ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. on Nickerson Field. For more information on that ceremony, please visit this website.
IS THERE AN ALP/IP/EXCHANGE CELEBRATION COMMENCEMENT WEEKEND?
YES! Mark your calendars for t Friday, May 19 from 6:30-8:30. Details will be fortcoming!
WHAT DO I WEAR?
In order to participate in the in-person May 21st Commencement ceremony, you will need University-approved regalia. Barnes & Noble at Boston University is the approved supplier for caps and gowns to graduates. Bachelor’s and master’s candidates purchase their keepsake regalia sets and doctoral candidates rent theirs. Please note that LLMs wear black doctoral robes. JD students wear red!
All orders must be placed online, and the order site is open now for all degree candidates. Ordering options include home delivery and campus pickup options. It is highly recommended that all orders are placed as soon as possible to avoid processing and transit delays.
Orders placed before April 1st will receive free domestic standard shipping.
If you select the campus pickup option, you will not receive your announcements until the start of campus pickup on May 9th at the bookstore.
DEADLINES
March 24: Order your Cap & Gown by March 24 for campus pickup option. Campus pickup orders will be available beginning May 9 at Barnes & Noble at Boston University on the second floor.
April 1: Order your Cap & Gown by April 1 for free domestic shipping. (Shipping charges will apply for all bachelor and master regalia orders after April 1.)
CAN I GET ANNOUNCEMENTS TO SEND TO MY FAMILY/FRIENDS?
YES! Boston University School of Law Commencement announcements are specific to the law school’s ceremony. Please note that announcements received with regalia orders are specifically for the All-University Commencement ceremony. LAW Announcements will be available at the OGIP office beginning in early March
