The Crisis of Crisis Pregnancy Centers: A Convening of Practitioners and Scholars on the Regulation of CPCs
- All Day on Friday, April 10, 2026
Crisis pregnancy centers have operated for decades, yet only recently have they received widespread public attention. These facilities continue to evolve and adapt, now outnumbering abortion providers by a ratio of 3 to 1 with a presence in every state and the District of Columbia. Over time, they have developed increasingly sophisticated approaches, from their marketing strategies to their navigation of legal frameworks. By leveraging free speech protections and healthcare regulations, they have expanded their reach while largely operating outside traditional oversight mechanisms.
This conference brings together scholars, practitioners, healthcare providers, and advocates to examine the evolution and current landscape of crisis pregnancy centers. As these facilities become more established and their methods more refined, understanding their impact on public health and reproductive healthcare access becomes increasingly urgent. Join us for a day of interdisciplinary conversation exploring both the history and future implications of this longstanding phenomenon.
The conference is hosted by the Boston University Program on Reproductive Justice at the Boston University School of Law. Registration is required to attend the conference. Please register below to receive more details.
