Mandie LeBeau is Appointed as a Boston Bar Association Council Member
Boston University School of Law is thrilled to congratulate Mandie LeBeau, assistant dean for career development & public service, on her recent appointment to the Boston Bar Association (BBA) Council.
This past fall, five new officers and nine new council members, including LeBeau, joined the BBA’s leadership team to support the organization’s mission of “building a stronger, more inclusive legal community, expanding access to justice, and serving Boston with integrity and purpose.” The BBA is a leading Massachusetts legal association, representing over 15,000 members and 140 institutional partners, including law firms, corporations, government agencies, legal aid organizations, and law schools.
As a council member, LeBeau will serve for three years as an important connection between the BBA and law students within the BU Law community and greater Boston area. She is the only law school representative currently serving on the Council.
“The Boston Bar Association Council members help to make important policy decisions that guide the work of the Boston Bar Association. As a member of the BBA Council, I am fortunate to participate in conversations with leaders from across Boston’s legal community and represent the voice of law schools and law students in these conversations,” says LeBeau. “Through this work, I am furthering connections in the legal community on behalf of our students, encouraging them to get involved and begin building their network with attorneys through BBA programs and events.”
The BBA is an instrumental resource for students, alumni, faculty, and staff. LeBeau’s appointment continues BU Law’s direct commitment to the organization’s mission following the conclusion of Dean Angela Onwuachi-Willig’s term as a council member in the summer of 2025. Additional members of the BBA leadership team include BU Law alums Kristopher “Neil” Austin (’03) of Polsinelli, Andrew P. Strehle (’94) of Brown Rudnick LLP, Colin G. Van Dyke (’05) of Anderson Kreiger, and Ed Zacharias (’06) of McDermott Will & Schulte. BU Law lecturer Amy Burkart, who is a trial attorney at the US Securities & Exchange Commission, is also a BBA Council member.
“We are thrilled to watch this dynamic team shape the future of the BBA,” shared the Boston Bar Association in its announcement of the 2025–2026 leadership. “They are poised to elevate our mission of excellence, access to justice, and inclusive professional community.”
