{"id":5121,"date":"2019-01-19T09:52:54","date_gmt":"2019-01-19T14:52:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/las\/?p=5121"},"modified":"2019-01-19T09:52:54","modified_gmt":"2019-01-19T14:52:54","slug":"wfp-spring-internship-call-for-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/las\/2019\/01\/19\/wfp-spring-internship-call-for-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"WFP Spring Internship: Call for Applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Witness for Peace New England <\/b><\/h1>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Communications and Development Internship (<\/b><b>Spring 2019)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Roles and Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assist in developing enticing social media content (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintain and update the website with new, engaging and accurate content<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prepare newsletters, fundraising appeals, email blasts, urgent actions and reports<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Identify and apply for local and national grants and related fundraising sources<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Help develop membership and recurring contributor drives<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research and engage institutions, congregations, major donors and other funders<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Time Commitment and Location<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20 hours per week, though specific days and distribution of hours are flexible<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based in Boston, MA, though we will consider exceptional candidates located elsewhere<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commitment to Witness for Peace\u2019s<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/witnessforpeace.org\/about-us\/mission-history\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mission and covenant<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In-depth knowledge of historical\/contemporary US policies &amp; practices in Latin America<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong understanding of\/experience with current Latin American social movements<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bachelor\u2019s degree or working towards one<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excellent written, verbal and digital communication<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exemplary editing\/proofreading skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Self-motivated, detail-oriented<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Solid computer, social media, and marketing skills <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to work independently and collaboratively <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dependability, flexibility, and ability to maintain confidentiality<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proficiency with Google Suite, Office Suite, Action Network, Adobe Suite, WordPress<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Start &amp;
