Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New Jersey, Junot Diaz is the author of\u00a0<em>Drown, The Brief Wondrous Life Wao,\u00a0<\/em>which won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award, and\u00a0<em>This is How You Lose Her,\u00a0<\/em>a\u00a0<em>New York Times\u00a0<\/em>bestseller and National Book Award finalist. He is the recipient of the a Mac Aurthur Fellowship, PEN\/Malamud Award, Dayton Literary Peace Prize, Guggenheim Fellowship and PEN\/O, Henry Award.
