Applications should be submitted online – more information can be found here. Admission into the undergraduate program (Bachelor of Arts) in Latin American Studies requires completion of an application to BU College of Arts & Sciences (CAS). For September submissions for incoming freshmen, the application deadline is January 1. Offers of admission will begin being mailed in late March, and all applicants with completed applications will be notified of their status by April 15. For early decision applicants, the deadline is November 1, and the decision will be made by December 15. Students wishing to be considered for financial aid will need to submit additional paperwork. Visit the Office of Financial Assistance website at www.bu.edu/finaid for more information.

Current BU students not in CAS who wish to change their major concentration to LAS should obtain an Intra-University Transfer Form from their current School or College and apply to CAS (check with the academic advising office in your school/college for any specific policies and procedures). CAS students should go to the CAS Advising Center, 100 Bay State Road (and file a Change of Major/Minor Concentration Form.  The Hegis code for the LAS Major is 0308a and the Hegis code for the LAS Minor is 0308b. This process can also be done online here.

International students and students transferring from another college or university should be sure to check with the Admissions Office for information on the policies and procedures for applicants in their situations. For all transfer students, it is recommended that all paperwork regarding intra-university transfers be completed by November 1 for the Spring Semester and by March 1 for the Fall Semester.
