The Center for Latin American Studies celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) with a concert of Latin American art songs and solo piano repertoire with Colombia’s celebrated classical music star, virtuoso pianist Eduardo Rojas and BU School of Music Voice Department students: Grace Christensen, Stella Fitzgerald, Mirah Johnston, and Anna Ruggiero.

Eduardo Rojas, is renowned for his delicate touch, colorful tone and the deep musicality with which he delivers his powerful, fiery renditions of European and PanAmerican repertoire. His flawless technique, vast knowledge of composition theory and historical background of the works he choses to present, earn him the admiration and respect of fellow musicians and critics while his big heart, courage and humanity win him the love of his audiences.
Hailed by the Dallas Morning News as “a pianist with considerable skill and force of personality,” Eduardo Rojas has performed as a soloist with orchestras throughout South and North America. His soloist engagements have included the Richmond Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, Bogota Philharmonic, San Angelo Symphony, Bogota Symphony, Philharmonic of Cali, Panama National Orchestra, Colombia Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, the Great Lakes Symphony, the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra, and the Dallas Chamber Symphony. Enthusiastic about performing internationally, he has appeared in Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Chile, San Salvador, Panama, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada, Taiwan and the United States.
