{"id":22332,"date":"2026-03-12T10:34:43","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T14:34:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/khc\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=22332"},"modified":"2026-04-08T11:36:50","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T15:36:50","slug":"emma-chuo","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/khc\/profile\/emma-chuo\/","title":{"rendered":"Emma Chuo\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Hi! :) My name is Emma\u00a0Chuo (she\/her).\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0from Taipei, Taiwan, and\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0in the Class of 2029, studying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/questrom\/programs\/undergrad\/bsba\/\">Business Administration<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/cas\/programs\/earth-environment\/minor-in-environmental-analysis-policy\/\">Environmental Policy &amp; Analysis<\/a>!\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0passionate about creating social impact at the intersection of development economics, environmental sustainability, and political philosophy, and outside of academics,\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0always catch me producing music, jamming with my rock band, or going on little food hunts around Boston with friends.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">I was drawn to Kilachand because of its interdisciplinary curriculum, but I have continued to explore these interests beyond the classroom too! At BU, I am involved with nonprofit consulting at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/180dcboston\/\">180 Degrees Consulting<\/a>, community service with the <a href=\"https:\/\/questromworld.bu.edu\/gov\/\">Questrom Student Government<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/innovate\/\">Innovate@BU<\/a>, where I am currently working on a startup supporting immigrant local businesses. I also arrange music for my R&amp;B acapella group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonuniversityacappella.com\/bassline\">Bassline<\/a>, where I\u2019ve met some of my closest friends, and we perform frequently at different events in school and around Boston, which is always a ton of fun. This semester, I also received an opportunity from my Kilachand professor to conduct ecological economics research, which I\u2019m super excited about! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">On that note, in and outside the classroom, Kilachand has been such an integral part of my college experience. More importantly, it has brought me to such an awesome community of people whom I can talk to about highly academic pursuits, but also be silly around.
