My name is Karen Kong(she\/her) and I am in the class of 2028 majoring in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/sar\/programs\/health-science\/\">Health Science<\/a>. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. In my free time, I love doing pilates, yoga, listening to music, and traveling.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Aside from being a Kilachand Ambassador, I am a part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/teamcsa\/?hl=en\">Chinese Students Association<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/bu_sase\/?hl=en\">Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers<\/a>. Also, I work as an undergraduate laboratory assistant in a biology lab. One of my favorite Kilachand classes is &#8220;Poetry as Activism.&#8221; It deepened my connection to poetry through exploring works centered around racial injustice, mass incarceration, war, and so much more. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kilachand offered me this small community within this large university that made the transition to college easier.
