The Hub gives Boston University students the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and habits of mind that will enable them to be lifelong learners and leaders in a rapidly evolving global community. It reflects Boston University\u2019s mission to educate students who are reflective, resourceful individuals ready to live, adapt, and lead in an interconnected world.<\/p>\n<p>All undergraduate students, regardless of the academic program in which they are enrolled, are required to develop<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hub\/about-the-hub\/what-is-the-hub\">six essential capacities<\/a><span> and fulfill 26 BU Hub requirements in six areas, typically within 10-12 courses, to graduate from Boston University.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Hub is integrated into the entire undergraduate experience. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hub\/advising-and-the-hub\/hub-requirements-for-students\/\">BU Hub requirements<\/a> are flexible and can be satisfied in many different ways, through coursework in the major, and BU Hub cocurricular experiences.<\/p>\n<h4>How the BU Hub works with Kilachand<\/h4>\n<p>Kilachand is a BU Hub pathway at Boston University and students will satisfy a majority of their BU Hub requirements through the Kilachand curriculum. Remaining BU Hub requirements can be satisfied from a wide range of available courses within and outside the major, BU Hub co-curricular experiences, and AP credit.<\/p>\n<p>All Kilachand courses fulfill BU Hub requirements. The Kilachand curriculum is also flexible, and students may make choices within the Kilachand curriculum to complement the Hub requirements they fulfill through their schools, colleges, and majors.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Hub Guide<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Your Kilachand coursework combined with your major coursework is your pathway through the BU Hub. We encourage you to review the Kilachand &amp; BU Hub planning sheet below and those of your school, college, or major and make note of any remaining requirements you may need to fulfill after integrating what you&#8217;ve earned through AP credit, your current and future major coursework, your current and future Kilachand coursework, and other electives you&#8217;ve taken. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the integration of Kilachand and the Hub. Availability and presentation of Hub information and varies by school, college, and department.
