Monday, October 19, 2026 is Professional Development Day!<\/strong> Throughout the day, we are offering 3 workshops led by Jeremy Schifeling from Job Insiders, a website development workshop led by KLAB, professional headshots, and one-on-one resume review sessions with Dr. Amy Fish. We will also have the Director of the Washington, D.C. Internship Program, David Collier, available in the evening for you to learn more about that opportunity.<\/p>\n

Students should bring their [charged] laptop to all of the workshops in order to participate in the hands-on work that will be happening during each one. Students attending the Website Development Workshop will also need to activate their [free] Adobe Creative Cloud license<\/a> before the event (if you have not already).<\/span><\/p>\n

For co-curricular credit, please attend one of the 4 workshops.<\/strong> We encourage you to attend as many as you can; however, only one co-curricular credit is available for this event. The headshot & resume sessions are quick drop-in sessions. These do not qualify for co-curricular credit, but are great resources to take advantage of!<\/p>\n

Event Description: <\/strong>Learn how to create a website that best presents you to the world. We’ll work on what should be highlighted on your website to showcase the best version of you \u2013 remember, this isn’t a resume. You’ll learn how to showcase both your work and your personality all in one place for employers to find. Be sure to bring your laptop to follow along as we cover how to set up your homepage, how to link your resume and portfolio (or anything else you\u2019d like to present), and how to add contact information.<\/span><\/p>\n

This workshop will focus primarily on two options: Adobe Portfolio and AI options. Adobe Portfolio will require students to have an Adobe Creative Cloud license – free to all BU students! Activate your Adobe Creative Cloud license here<\/a> before the event<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Event Description: <\/strong>David Collier will be available between our evening workshops to connect with students about the BUDC abroad program. BUDC is Boston University’s\u00a0career readiness and living-learning internship program set in Washington, DC!<\/span><\/p>\n

Washington, DC Internship Program<\/strong><\/h5>\n

BU\u2019s Washington Program<\/a> (BUDC) is a study away opportunity focused on building professional skills and career-readiness. Students intern on Capitol Hill, at government agencies, law firms or legal nonprofits, think tanks, tech companies, public relations firms, or one of the hundreds of nonprofits and advocacy organizations, developing the skills and experiences that are in demand in today\u2019s workplace. Students also earn BU credit to stay on track to graduation.<\/p>\n

Alongside all this, the program runs career workshops, professional development programming, and offers one-on-one guidance to ensure students leave DC confident, connected, and ready to compete in the modern job market.<\/p>\n
