The BUNITED Student Diversity Conference<\/a> is a student-led conference that aims to provide a safe environment to enhance attendees’ cultural competency by recognizing and understanding the social issues that prevail in our society. Through the use of workshops, discussions, and self-reflection, BUNITED strives to identify consequences of oppressive systems and the specific ways individuals (and the communities they exist within) choose to react. They seek to encourage individual growth, promote practical skills, open individuals to new perspectives, and advocate for social justice and equality both on and off of college campuses. Through their theme, \u201cThe Power of the Present: Tomorrow’s Story Starts Today\u201d they hope to unpack and redefine the possibilities that our future holds through the lens of four capacities: technological advancements, environmental sustainability, social justice and intersectionality. They hope each person leaves the conference with confidence in their capacity to affect change in our society today.<\/p>\n

Co-Curricular Event<\/h4>\n

In support of the Kilachand students who have organized the BUNITED Conference, this year’s Keynote Address by American civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump<\/a> will be a Co-Curricular Event for Kilachand students.<\/p>\n

Keynote: Sunday, February 17 at 3:10 PM in the GSU Metcalf Ballroom<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fees and RSVP<\/h4>\n

There is a $10 fee for BU-affliated students\/faculty\/staff to attend the conference. Kilachand will pay the entrance fee for students who RSVP via this link by Tuesday, February 12<\/a>. After you submit this RSVP, Kilachand will register you for the conference and pay your conference fee. You will receive confirmation of your conference registration after February 12.<\/p>\n

Please seek out BUNITED organizers and Kilachand students Solange Hackshaw and Jessica Thai, who will have Involvio QR Codes for you to scan to register your attendance at the event.
