The Elie Wiesel Center invites you to an important and timely event to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day that will take place on Sunday, January 26th.
Dr. Charles Gallagher, S.J., will give a presentation entitled “How Antisemitism Grows: Lessons from Boston’s 1930’s Nazi Movement.” Author of the acclaimed book The Nazis of Copley Square: The Forgotten Story of the Christian Front, Dr. Gallagher will present his new research on the rise of the Nazi movement in Boston and New York before, during, and after World War II. A panel discussion featuring Rob Leikind of AJC New England will follow, exploring connections between this past and growing antisemitism and extremism today.
In these current times, when antisemitism has once again grown prevalent in American politics and society, Gallagher’s work is an important call to confront dangerous extremism. We hope you will be able to join us for this presentation and discussion that affects us so strongly today.
The lecture will take place at 5pm at Boston University Hillel (213 Bay State Road), with a reception to follow. It will be live-streamed, although we encourage your attendance in person if possible. Please find more information and a registration link on the flyer below. Registration is required for both in person and for streaming.
This event is co-sponsored by the Jewish Cultural Endowment and AJC New England.
