{"id":8357,"date":"2015-11-13T14:22:11","date_gmt":"2015-11-13T19:22:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/isso\/?p=8357"},"modified":"2016-02-01T17:18:00","modified_gmt":"2016-02-01T22:18:00","slug":"redesigned-form-i-20-reflects-sevis-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/isso\/2015\/11\/13\/redesigned-form-i-20-reflects-sevis-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"Redesigned Form I-20 Reflects SEVIS Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) was upgraded in June of 2015 to revise the look and data contained on the redesigned Form I-20 for F-1 students. <br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/isso\/files\/2015\/11\/Redesigned-Form-I-20.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8365 aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/isso\/files\/2015\/11\/Redesigned-Form-I-20-384x300.jpg\" height=\"300\" width=\"384\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/isso\/files\/2015\/11\/Redesigned-Form-I-20-384x300.jpg 384w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/isso\/files\/2015\/11\/Redesigned-Form-I-20-1024x799.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 384px) 100vw, 384px\" \/><\/a><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All students in continuing F-1 status will be required to have an\u00a0<a href=\"\/isso\/files\/2015\/11\/Redesigned-Form-I-20-F-1-student.pdf\">updated version I-20<\/a>\u00a0<strong>before July 1, 2016.<\/strong> Changes were also made to the <a href=\"\/isso\/files\/2015\/11\/Redesigned-Form-I-20-F-2-dep.pdf\">Form I-20 for F-2 dependents<\/a>. Over the course of this school year, the ISSO will be issuing new version I-20s to all continuing F-1 students and their F-2 dependents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you have an <strong>I-20 issued on or after June 29, 2015,<\/strong> then you already have a new version I-20. You may have received a new version I-20, for instance, to reflect a new admission, change of major, program extension, or if you received an authorization for CPT or a recommendation for OPT.<br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/li>\n<li>For students <strong>traveling out of the U.S. this winter <\/strong>over the Thanksgiving holiday or Winter Intersession<strong>,<\/strong> the ISSO will be issuing new version I-20s along with all travel signature requests.<br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/li>\n<li>If you are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> traveling this winter, the ISSO will <strong>be reissuing new version I-20s to all continuing students in the spring of 2016.<\/strong><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/li>\n<li>If your <strong>F-1 program will be ending before June 2016<\/strong>, then you will not need a new version I-20, as this requirement will not go into effect until July 1, 2016.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Have you received your New Version I-20?<\/strong> Respond to our questionnaire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/isso\/new-version-i-20\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) was upgraded in June of 2015 to revise the look and data contained on the redesigned Form I-20 for F-1 students.
