There are a few dates and milestones that will determine your official program completion date for immigration record keeping. It’s important to be aware of your official program completion date so you can maintain your status.<\/p>\n

Undergraduate and Graduate Degree Students<\/h3>
<\/p>\n

There are three standard graduation dates. You must register for graduation with the Registrar’s office. As you register in your remaining classes, make sure you are completing all requirements for your degree.<\/p>\n

Your program completion date will be the University’s official graduation date for the semester in which you complete all program requirements. If you will complete your program of study during the summer, you must be registered during the Summer Term and complete summer registration at the ISSO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Spring<\/td>\nDate of program completion will be the date of the May graduation ceremony<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Fall<\/td>\nDate of program completion will be the Friday before the Spring semester begins<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Summer<\/td>\nDate of program completion will be August 25<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Graduate Students in Thesis or Dissertation Programs<\/h3>
<\/p>\n

Your official program completion date will be the day of the graduation ceremony of the semester in which you submit your thesis\/dissertation.\u00a0Please note that all students who will complete and submit their thesis\/dissertation during the summer must be registered as continuing students during the Summer Term.<\/p>\n

Non-Degree Students<\/h3>
<\/p>\n

Your completion date is the last day of exams for the term in which you finish your non-degree studies, or the date specified on your Form I-20 or DS-2019, whichever is earlier.<\/p>\n

Researchers, faculty and staff<\/h3>
<\/p>\n

You are allow to continue research, teaching, or other academic activities until the program end date indicated by your employment authorization or immigration document or the date determined by your host department, whichever is earlier.<\/p>\n
