I am completing a large ethnographic and archival research\u00a0project that examines the dynamic multivalence of wetlands. In Turkey, as in many other places, the wetland became an important site of everyday contestations over new and foreclosed possibilities in a time of uncertain politics and in precarious and rapidly changing environments. I am also starting new research on ecological precarity and mobility across the Mediterranean. In this work, I am exploring how Turkey\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><i class=\"\">yerel tohumlar<\/i><span>\u00a0and Italy\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><i class=\"\">semi tradizionali<\/i><span>\u00a0\u2013 open-pollinated garden seed varieties \u2013 channel concerns of ethnic, regional, religious, and national belonging in a time of rising\u00a0authoritarianism, increased migration and displacement, and heightened climate crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":21370,"template":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/21774"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/profile"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/21370"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/21774\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":21775,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/21774\/revisions\/21775"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=21774"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
