{"id":14341,"date":"2022-08-26T10:36:58","date_gmt":"2022-08-26T14:36:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=14341"},"modified":"2025-09-05T10:49:04","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T14:49:04","slug":"daniel-abramson","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/profile\/daniel-abramson\/","title":{"rendered":"Daniel Abramson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"s9\"><span class=\"s6\">Daniel<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">M.<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">Abramson\u2019s<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">scholarship<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">focuses<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">on<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">issues<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">of<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">architecture,<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">society,<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">economics, and<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">government<\/span><span class=\"s6\">,<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">from<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">the<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">eighteenth through twentieth centuries with a specialization in American and European topics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s9\"><span class=\"s6\">Current<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">work focuses on architecture and citizenship in<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">American government centers<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span>since 1900,<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">including a recent article in<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/direct.mit.edu\/grey\/issue\/number\/78\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><span class=\"s10\">Grey Room 78<\/span><\/em><\/a><span class=\"s6\">\u00a0(Winter 2020) on<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\">the<\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span>\u00a0<\/span>Massachusetts State Service Center and the American welfare state. Before coming to Boston University in 2016, Abramson taught at Tufts University and Connecticut College.
