<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\nThe IOC is accepting applications from BU undergraduate and graduate students for our 2020 Summer Fellowships<\/a> with the Cities of Boston, Providence, and Manchester, UK.<\/p>\n Graduate Student Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n Undergraduate Student Opportunities:<\/strong><\/p>\n Applications<\/a> are due Sunday, February 16, 2020\u00a0to Stacy Fox at\u00a0sfox@bu.edu.<\/strong><\/p>\nApply here<\/a>\n The Initiative on Cities is seeking a talented BU student to assist with research activities in our office. You will be working directly with our staff and affiliated faculty to support survey work with public officials, to conduct literature reviews and help produce nontechnical reports and white papers for publication by the Initiative, and to manage and coordinate special projects. You will be joining the IOC as a member of our team, with a dedicated desk and use of our offices and administrative support at 75 Bay State Road.<\/span><\/p>\n The candidate will be compensated with a total stipend of $11,670 for the 18 week summer semester (May-August 2020.) Your obligation to this fellowship will not exceed 20 hours per week, with a substantial portion of that time spent at the IOC offices at 75 Bay State Road during the work week. The ideal candidate is able to commit to the summer semester with the option to renew for Fall 2020.<\/p>\nApply here<\/a>\n Applications are due Tuesday, March 31, 2020 to Stacy Fox at sfox@bu.edu.<\/p>\n Public Impact Scholars<\/a>\u00a0is a new program developed by the\u00a0IOC to equip BU faculty with new skills and knowledge to influence local and state policy and discourse for positive societal impact. The program includes two days of intensive training, which will be held this summer on\u00a0June 1st and 2nd, 2020. This opportunity is open to any tenured, tenure-track or research faculty, as well as full-time lecturers at BU.<\/p>\n Faculty interested in participating are asked to submit a brief Statement of Desired Impact, via\u00a0this form<\/a>\u00a0by Monday March 1, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\nLearn More<\/a>\n The IOC is accepting proposals for our\u00a0Early Stage Urban Research Awards<\/a>. These seed grants support research addressing urban challenges and urban populations in the U.S. and abroad.<\/p>\n Awards are open to all BU schools and interdisciplinary collaboration is encouraged. Faculty and graduate students with faculty oversight are eligible to apply for funding.Successful proposals will receive seed funding up to $10,000.<\/p>\n Additionally, for the first time in our six years of sponsoring University research, we are offering seed funding up to $20,000 for successful interdisciplinary proposals that include at least two faculty from different departments.<\/p>\nLearn More<\/a>\n\n
