{"id":10745,"date":"2020-12-23T12:12:31","date_gmt":"2020-12-23T16:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/?p=10745"},"modified":"2025-04-16T17:41:02","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T21:41:02","slug":"request-for-proposals-now-open-2021-early-stage-urban-research-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/2020\/12\/23\/request-for-proposals-now-open-2021-early-stage-urban-research-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Request for Proposals Now Open: 2021 Early Stage Urban Research Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Initiative on Cities (IOC) is pleased to announce our annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/research\/seedgrants\/rfp\/\">Request for Proposals<\/a> is now open for our<span> annual <\/span>Early Stage Urban Research Awards. <strong>Proposals are due by 8:00am on Monday, March 15, 2021.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These seed grants, with awards of up to $10,000, support research addressing urban challenges and urban populations in the U.S. and abroad. This year, we are particularly interested in proposals related to<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>race, place, and space<\/strong>;\u00a0<strong>equity and inclusion; contemporary implications of history; lessons and implications of COVID-19; and international projects.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>As in prior years, we are also interested in proposals that leverage data from the<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.surveyofmayors.com\/about\">Menino Survey of Mayors<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>in new ways; seven years\u2019 worth of Menino Survey codebooks are available upon request. Additionally, we always welcome projects from other academic disciplines that work toward sustainable, just, and inclusive urban transformation.<\/p>\n<p>Awards are open to all Boston University schools, and interdisciplinary collaboration is encouraged.
