The Lab convenes diverse partners \u2013 from local communities to global networks \u2013 to share insights, co-create solutions, and seed fund projects that combine academic research, grassroots expertise, and policy innovation for measurable impact in cities.<\/p>\n<a href='https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/gudl\/' class='button button-primary'>Learn More About GUDL<\/a>\n<h2>Seed Funding Opportunity: Pilot Partnerships in Massachusetts<\/h2>\n<p>GUDL launched a <strong>special, time-limited pilot program<\/strong> to support the development of partnerships addressing gentrification and displacement in Massachusetts in Spring 2026. Applications for the pilot partnership seed funding opportunity <strong>have now closed<\/strong>, and we are in the process of awarding collaborative projects.<\/p>\n<p>This pilot aims to foster <strong>new, cross-sector partnerships<\/strong> that bridge local knowledge, research, and policy\u00a0to <strong>develop practical, community-driven solutions<\/strong>. Applicants could request to partner with, for example, advocates working on anti-displacement strategies, policymakers implementing anti-displacement policies, or researchers to conduct data analysis or to establish research-practice partnerships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligible Expenses:<\/strong> Collaborators can apply for grants to cover the following types of collaborations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compensation for time spent collecting or analyzing data, synthesizing best practices, and conducting policy analysis. <em>Note: We expect budgets to reflect partners&#8217; shared contributions.
