Submit a mural proposal for the BUild Lab&#8217;s entrance at 730 Commonwealth Avenue.<\/p>\n<h4>Call for Art:<\/h4>\n<p><b>Location:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BUild Lab, 730 Commonwealth Avenue;\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brick wall; entrance hallway<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Size:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8.6 feet x 8.6 feet\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Project details:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Innovate@BU is seeking submissions from student artists for a mural covering an 8.6\u201d x 8.6\u201d section of the BUild Lab\u2019s brick wall entrance. The project is part Innovate@BU\u2019s ongoing effort to create an inviting and inspiring environment for students to develop new ideas of all kinds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The theme of the design is up to the artist (or artist team) but should:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reflect on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/innovate\/about\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mission and vision <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of Innovate@BU and the BUild Lab<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">incorporates a quote or message that welcomes and encourages students from all schools, colleges, disciplines, and backgrounds\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">consider the wall\u2019s brick texture and surrounding environment (floor and wall decals)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">incorporate some or all of Innovate@BU\u2019s brand colors <a href=\"\/innovate\/files\/2020\/03\/Call-for-Mural-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">found here<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The selected artist(s):\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">must be a current BU student or a BU alumni\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">must be available to meet with Innovate@BU staff at the completion of the project for a short interview and photos\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">must be available to paint\/install the mural during the summer or early in the fall semester\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">may be required to consider design changes to be approved by the Innovate@BU staff and BU Facilities\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Budget:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The all-inclusive payment for this project is up to $2,000. Submissions should include a proposed budget for the entirety of the project (labor and materials).
