{"id":10500,"date":"2024-07-17T16:43:07","date_gmt":"2024-07-17T20:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/innovate\/?page_id=10500"},"modified":"2026-01-12T09:39:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T14:39:12","slug":"first-year-innovation-fellowship","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/innovate\/programs-competitions\/first-year-innovation-fellowship\/","title":{"rendered":"First-Year Innovation Fellowship"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Igniting change from year one.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The First-Year Innovation Fellowship (FYIF) is <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a semester-long experiential learning program <\/span>designed to empower students to turn their ideas into reality. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Offered each fall and spring, fellows<\/span> receive personalized coaching, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gain practical skills in design thinking, customer discovery, prototyping, and pitching, <\/span>and access valuable resources including a $500 seed grant to help launch or advance their ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Through regular cohort meetings and immersive, hands-on learning experiences, participants develop crucial entrepreneurial and leadership skills, all while making a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>First-years of all backgrounds and majors who are not transfer students are encouraged to apply\u2014no experience necessary!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications for the 2025-26 academic year are now closed.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Igniting change from year one.
