As a BU alumni, there are multiple ways to engage and participate in Innovate@BU and BUild Lab community. Below you’ll find multiple engagement opportunities whether you’re a recent grad who is exploring an entrepreneurial career path or you’re passionate about sharing your professional experience and expertise with current students.
Programs for Alumni
BU alumni may participate in the following programs.
BUild Lab Coworking Space
BU alumni who meet the following criteria may use the BUild Lab coworking space on BU’s Charles River Campus.
- Available to alumni ventures with 5 employees or less, depending upon availability and after COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
- Use of space will be re-evaluated after 2 years.
- All usage must be requested and approved by contacting Lisa Lavina, Assistant Director of Operations at lrlavina@bu.edu.
The BUild Lab is located at 730 Commonwealth Avenue and includes:
- Open-desks in a large coworking space
- Reservable meeting rooms
- WiFi
- Kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee, and tea
- Reservable lockers and storage bins
Mentorship & Student Engagement Opportunities
The BU Mentor Innovation Network (BU MIN) is an opportunity for BU alumni and community members to provide mentorship, coaching, and feedback to student entrepreneurs. Alumni can also request to be paired with a Mentor.
As a BU MIN member, engagement may include:
- Hosting an office hour session
- Serving as a judge for a pitch competition or community challenge
- Serving as a mentor for a student start-up team
