Winston Davis

Winston is from Wilmington, North Carolina and is majoring in mechanical engineering at the College of Engineering. In high school, he competed in Science Olympiad and was the vice president and co-founder of the Science Fair Academy at Isaac Bear Early College High School, a STEM mentoring program that connects high school students with elementary school students who are working on science fair projects.

He was selected to the North Carolina Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics program where he completed a four-week physics research project where he determined that laser diffraction is an efficient and accurate method of measuring fine objects. 

Winston is particularly interested in renewable energy research. After graduation, he hopes to become a society engineer who is conscience of the problems the world is facing and strives for solutions to solve them.
