Who is Lauren McLeod?
Lauren McLeod (Questrom’27) is the CEO and founder of EduPrev, an organization dedicated to teaching children healthy habits through interactive learning. A sophomore at Boston University, Lauren is majoring in neuroscience with a double minor in business administration and public health. Her passion for public health and education stems from her experiences growing up in St. Louis, where she witnessed firsthand the extreme disparities perpetuated by racial inequity and redlining.
The Journey of EduPrev
EduPrev’s interactive curriculum teaches children the importance of healthy habits while incorporating relatable and representative scenarios. The goal is to empower children to build strong, healthy habits that can prevent future health issues, such as cavities, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.
What started as a vision to make health education accessible and engaging has grown into a mission-driven enterprise that continually aims to transform the lives of many young students.
A Passion for Change
Beyond her entrepreneurial success, Lauren is committed to tackling systemic health issues at their roots. Inspired by her previous research on cognitive development and her time spent in public health centers, Lauren founded EduPrev to integrate health education into elementary schools. EduPrev’s curriculum focuses on engaging children with hands-on activities and diverse perspectives to instill healthy habits early on.
