Dr. Riva Krut is a corporate sustainability veteran of more than 30 years. She retired as VP and Chief Sustainability Officer of Linde plc in April 2021. At the time of her retirement, she was responsible for sustainable development strategy, targets and reporting; environmental management; human rights; community engagement and workforce development. She was a member of Linde’s Disclosure Committee and led engagements with ESG investors. 

Riva is past Chair, GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Due Process Oversight Committee (three-year term); past member of the Corporate Advisory Group of the Carbon Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) and has served on the Boards of several nonprofits. She is a member of the Board of the Lands and Conservation Commission of the town of Cumberland, Maine and on their Climate Action Plan Subcommittee. She has taught graduate university classes in corporate sustainability, Impact measurement and ESG at Columbia University, Yale, U North Carolina, NC State and NYU, among others; and is co-author of a book and several articles and reports. 

Riva received her PhD in history from London University School of Oriental & African Studies and her B.A.(Hons), 1st Class, from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She completed the Harvard Business School HBX certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy.
