U.S. Clandestine Operations Against China during the Early Cold War<\/strong><\/p>\n

On September 21, 2023, IHI and BU’s Center for the Study of Asia (BUCSA) co-sponsored a conference on the topic of \u201cU.S. Clandestine Operations Against China during the Early Cold War.\u201d \u00a0This conference, in part, honored the service and sacrifice of CIA officer Richard \u201cDick\u201d Fecteau, a Lynn, MA native and Boston University (BU) alumnus.<\/p>\n

1944 Paris and Warsaw Uprisings<\/strong>
\nMilitary historian Cathal Nolan chronicled the Paris and Warsaw uprisings that occurred simultaneously in August of 1944. He was joined by the museum\u2019s senior historian, Robert Citino, for a conversation about those events. The National World War II Museum in New Orleans hosted this program.<\/p>\n

Assessing Victory and Defeat<\/strong>
\nCathal Nolan explored how history assesses the victories and defeats of war. He is the author of The Allure of Battle: A History of How Wars Have Been Won and Lost<\/em>. This talk was part of the National World War II Museum\u2019s 2018 annual international conference.<\/p>\n
