He is the author of <em>Principled Diplomacy: Security and Rights in U.S. Foreign Policy<\/em> and <em>The Longman Guide to World Affairs<\/em> and editor of <em>Shepherd of Democracy? America and Germany in the 20th Century, Ethics and Statecraft: The Moral Dimensions of International Affairs, and Notable U.S. Ambassadors Since 1775.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In 2002 his four-volume <em>Greenwood Encyclopedia of International Relations<\/em> was published. His <em>Age of Wars of Religion: 1000-1650<\/em>, volumes I and II of ten planned volumes of an <em>Encyclopedia of World Wars<\/em>, was published in 2006.
