Harvard and Columbia educated oncologist and Presidential Historian Gene Kopelson speaks about his book "Reagan's 1968 Dress Rehearsal: Ike, RFK, and Reagan's Emergence as a World Statesman." In his book talk he reveals audio clips previously lost to history, in which presidential candidate and later President Ronald Reagan discusses the critical importance of Eisenhower's mentorship in world affairs (Vietnam, the Tet Offensive, USS Pueblo incident, and much more). Reagan affirms that Ike's influence on him extended through the end of his presidency and beyond. Kopelson has spoken at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene, Stanford University's Hoover Institution, the Richard M. Nixon Presidential Library, Pepperdine University's School of Public Policy, The Ronald W. Reagan Society at Eureka College, the U.S. Army War College, The Naval War College, Boston Public Library, and The Institute for World Politics. CSPAN made his book talk part of their American Presidency series.
