Jonathan Greenacre, affiliated faculty with the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), is Assistant Professor, Global Development Policy, at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies with a focus on the intersection of institutions, economic development, and technology. He has particular expertise in analyzing institutions firms and governments are using to provide new innovations in Africa and other developing regions. These innovations include mobile money in Kenya, so-called \u2018Uber for tractor\u2019 sharing apps in Nigeria, and micro-solar energy units in Rwanda.<\/p>\n
Greenacre has a Masters in Law and Finance and a PhD in Law from Oxford University.<\/p>\n
Before academia, Greenacre practiced law in a commercial law firm. He has provided legal and regulatory advice to the United Nations, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and central banks in Africa and the Pacific.<\/p>\n
