This role will support the development of GIS-based visualizations and analysis for clean energy, climate, and resilience to advance data-driven decision making in Massachusetts. If you have any questions, please reach out to <a href=\"mailto:MACELT@bu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MACELT@bu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Key Responsibilities:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the creation and visualization of GIS data relevant to clean energy, climate, and resilience<\/li>\n<li>Perform spatial analysis to support ongoing research projects intended for public resources part of state\/municipal partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely data processing and visualization<\/li>\n<li>Maintain high attention to detail in data entry, analysis, and visualization<\/li>\n<li>Work ~10-20 hours per week, with flexibility around academic schedule<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>\u00a0Qualifications:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in Sustainability, Data Science, Remote Sensing, Public Health, Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in energy, sustainability, climate, or policy<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, ArcPy, R)<\/li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail and ability to manage, analyze, and document large datasets<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team<\/li>\n<li>Effective communication skills and ability to present findings clearly<\/li>\n<li>Effective organization and time management skills to manage data requests flow quickly<\/li>\n<li>Experience with data related to clean energy, climate action, and sustainability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a terrific opportunity for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in GIS for practice-based research while contributing to meaningful projects related to climate change and sustainability at the state and local levels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Clean Energy &amp; Environment Legacy Transition Initiative (CELT), hosted at the BU Institute for Global Sustainability, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented graduate or undergraduate student to join our team as a GIS Research Assistant.
