Selena Hu, a 2026 Graduate Summer Fellow at the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), is a PhD student in Computing & Data Sciences. Hu’s research focuses on multi-agent reinforcement learning and data-efficient exploration. Her work develops learning algorithms that enable efficient decision-making, with applications to real-world systems such as building energy optimization. She is particularly interested in designing scalable learning methods with broad real-world impact.
Her faculty advisor is Aldo Pacchiano (Assistant Professor, Computing & Data Sciences) and her project is titled “Smart and Sustainable Buildings through Data-Efficient Reinforcement Learning.“
