Sahar Sharifzadeh

Sahar Sharifzadeh, affiliated faculty with the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), leads a research group focused on understanding and predicting functional material properties using first-principles electronic structure methods. They develop and apply these methods, which can predict, with quantitative accuracy, the electronic, magnetic, and structural properties of materials from the basic laws of quantum mechanics. The goals of this research are to extract physical intuition about, and ultimately, design new materials.
