Alexa Kwon

Alexa Kwon is the Communications Specialist at the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS). In her role, she coordinates communications strategies, contributes to content development and manages internal and external content.

Prior to joining BU, Kwon served as a Marketing and Communications Intern at Green Century Capital Management, supporting the tracking of metrics and creating content for their LinkedIn page. She also completed co-ops at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, supporting digital communications, and with the City of Boston, where she coordinated urban agriculture programs.

Kwon holds a BS in Communication Studies and Design and minor in Environmental Studies from Northeastern University. In her undergraduate years, she was heavily involved with the Asian American Center, serving in various roles supporting the student and staff community.

Outside of work, Kwon volunteers as a mentor for young Asian American girls. She has also volunteered teaching horticulture to incarcerated students and on the field crew at the community farm in her hometown.

In her free time, Kwon loves to stay active through boxing, yoga, running, and weightlifting, and enjoys spending time outside hiking, gardening and creating flower arrangements.
