#EarthDay365: "Entangled" Film Screening

  • Starts5:30 pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2023
  • Ends7:30 pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2023

Free screening of Entangled to celebrate #EarthDay365 with the Boston University community. Hosted by the BU Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS).

As we celebrate #EarthDay365 on campus throughout April, Boston University students, faculty, and staff are invited to a free screening of Entangled — an award-winning, feature-length film about how climate change has accelerated a collision between North Atlantic right whales (one of the world’s most endangered species), North America’s most valuable fishery, and a federal agency mandated to protect both. The film, by David Abel (Professor of the Practice, BU College of Communication and Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter, The Boston Globe) and Andy Laub, won a 2020 Jackson Wild award, known as the Oscars of nature films. It also won Best Feature Film at the International Wildlife Film Festival, Best Conservation Film at the International Ocean Film Festival, and the John de Graaf Environmental Filmmaking Award at the Wild & Scenic Film Festival.

A special audience Q&A with filmmaker David Abel will immediately follow the screening. Popcorn and beverages will be served.

Hosted by the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability. Co-sponsored by the College of Communication, BU Sustainability, and the BU Arts Initiative with additional promotional support from the student-led BU Energy & Sustainability Club.
