{"id":2487,"date":"2023-02-02T14:25:48","date_gmt":"2023-02-02T19:25:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/iar\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=2487"},"modified":"2026-05-12T08:53:30","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T12:53:30","slug":"nan-liu","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/iar\/profile\/nan-liu\/","title":{"rendered":"Nan Liu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nan Liu applies a suite of advanced micro-analytical techniques to understand the stellar origins and formation timing of presolar grains, nucleosynthetic processes in their parent stars, and condensation formation processes in stellar environments.<\/p>\n<p>Her current research interests include supernova and asymptotic giant branch stellar nucleosynthesis, analytical development on isotopic analysis of micron-sized samples, and coordinated microanalyses using different techniques.<\/p>\n<p>Nan Liu obtained her PhD in Cosmochemistry from the University of Chicago (Department of Geophysical Sciences) in 2014. She then spent three years working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism, Carnegie Institution for Science.
