All current BU\u00a0<b>undergraduates<\/b>\u00a0are eligible to submit digital projects\u00a0<b>with strong humanistic content<\/b>\u00a0in the following four categories: web design, audio, visual, or game\/app design. Web design<br \/>\n2. Audio<br \/>\n3. Visual<br \/>\n4. Game\/App design<\/p>\n<p><b>Applicants are limited to two submissions<\/b>. Please complete a separate application form for each submission. If you are unsure as to which category best describes your project, please email the Center at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:buch@bu.edu\">buch@bu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All submissions should be submitted via link and hosted on an independent platform (i.e., Youtube, website, online portfolio).\u00a0Please select a\u00a0<span>15-minute<\/span>\u00a0highlight if your project runs longer than 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Defining the Humanities<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>While the applicant(s) does not need to be majoring in a humanities discipline, funding will only be awarded to projects with demonstrably strong humanistic content. The group analyzes her father&#8217;s diary from when he was kidnapped for seven months by guerrilla groups in Colombia. They also investigate the historical significance of the periods of violence in Colombia from \u201cLa Violencia\u201d in the 60s, to guerrilla tactics of the 90s, and current points of political contention.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Visual Category<br \/>\n<\/strong>Bingqing Liu, CAS &#8217;29<br \/>\nBingqing&#8217;s short film, <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/bqlfilm\/justonemore\"><strong>&#8220;Just One More&#8221;<\/strong><\/a>, follows the life of a young boy caught in the grip of an unusual addiction\u2014potato chips. What begins as a harmless craving slowly spirals into something more insidious, mirroring the cycle of substance abuse.\u00a0<span>Bingqing created the film entirely\u2014writing, directing, shooting, acting, editing, and composing the score over 150+ hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Website Category<br \/>\n<\/strong>Abigail Lee, CAS &#8217;27 and Jennifer Hu, CAS&#8217; 27<br \/>\nAs part of a project led by J. Keith Vincent (WLL), Abigail and Jenniffer assisted with web development on a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/genjipoems.org\">website and database<\/a><\/strong> that catalogs 5 translations of 795 classical Japanese poems from the 11th century novel The Tale of Genji.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Game Category<\/strong><br \/>\nYijun &#8220;Betty&#8221; Xie, CAS &#8217;26<br \/>\nBetty&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/an287projectbx.itch.io\/the-path-home\"><strong>\u201cThe Path Home\u201d<\/strong><\/a> centered on the founding and creation of an All-Black town and community set between the late 19th century and the early 20th century.
