At this moment in time, the Center is poised to further its original goals, build on the four decades of accomplishment and prestige that BUCH has supported and brought to the University, and secure the continued rise of BU as a global leader in innovative humanities-based scholarship, leadership, community engagement and creative work. Each of our initiatives develops a public humanities component designed to engage the City of Boston and the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

In its 2022\/2023 report, the BUCH Expanded Charter identified three <\/strong>new initiatives<\/strong> to focus the Center’s efforts in maintaining and enlarging its current programmatic scope:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Humanities Leadership:
\n<\/strong><\/span>The Humanities Leadership Initiative<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>strategically promotes the humanities at BU by demonstrating the humanities\u2019 value for organizational leadership inside the academy and beyond, thus building support and understanding for the humanities generally.<\/p>\n

\"\"Humanizing the Digital:<\/strong>
\nThe Digital Humanities Initiative<\/a><\/strong> will respond to these challenges by supporting research into the development of innovative tools and methodologies for the curation, preservation, dissemination, creation and computational analysis of human culture in all its forms.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Humanities in the World:<\/strong>
\nThe Humanities in the World Initiative<\/a><\/strong> will promote and expand humanities research at BU that attends to global and Diaspora concerns, as well as transnational and local patterns of cultural transformation and movement that shape everyday life for most human beings throughout the world.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
