{"id":13823,"date":"2020-04-08T15:13:17","date_gmt":"2020-04-08T19:13:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/humanities\/people\/"},"modified":"2025-06-24T15:23:46","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T19:23:46","slug":"people","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/humanities\/about-us\/people\/","title":{"rendered":"People"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Directors<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As of July 2023, the BU Center for the Humanities is now led by a three-member directorial team: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/humanities\/profiles\/juliet-floyd-3\/\"><strong>Juliet Floyd, Director; <\/strong><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/humanities\/profiles\/daniel-abramson\/\"><strong>Daniel Abramson, Associate Director; <\/strong><\/a>and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/humanities\/profiles\/yuri-corrigan-2\/\"><strong> Yuri Corrigan, Associate Director<\/strong><\/a>. The new directors are committed to implementing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/humanities\/initiatives\/\"><strong>three strategic initiatives<\/strong><\/a> envisioned in the BUCH Charter (2023): Humanities Leadership, Digital Humanities, and Humanities in the World.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Administrative Staff<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In addition to helping carry out these new initiatives, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/humanities\/about-us\/people\/staff\/\"><strong>Center&#8217;s administrative staff<\/strong><\/a> continues to manage the Center&#8217;s fellowship program, organize Center events, furnish a weekly bulletin of humanities events and opportunities, and administer all of the Center&#8217;s competitions.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Fellows<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Each annual cohort of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/humanities\/about-us\/people\/fellows\/\"><strong>Center <strong>F<\/strong>ellows<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0includes senior faculty, junior faculty, and PhD candidates selected though a competitive application process. Fellows participate in the regular Fellows Seminar where they present their work and benefit from multidisciplinary feedback and dialogue.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Executive Committee<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Comprised of senior faculty members from humanities and related departments, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/humanities\/about-us\/people\/executive-committee\/\">Executive Committee<\/a><\/strong> adjudicates the selection process for faculty and student competitions, together with the Director, and convenes twice a semester.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Directors As of July 2023, the BU Center for the Humanities is now led by a three-member directorial team: Juliet Floyd, Director; Daniel Abramson, Associate Director; and Yuri Corrigan, Associate Director.
