Planning Your Course

As a new course, XCC will require substantial coordination with XCC program staff and your teaching partner. Therefore, the process of selecting and scoping appropriate projects, matching faculty pairs, identifying class days/times, and customizing the XCC template syllabus should begin at least 6 months in advance of registration. Below are visual representations of the planning timelines for XCC.

6-12 months out

• Department approval to teach HUB XC 433
• Course Info (Title, Description, Day/Time, Teaching Partner and Community Partner)

2-4 months out

• Syllabus development with Teaching Partner
• Project development with Community Partner
• *Note: the development timeline for spring semester is significantly shorter and will be more demanding

2 months out

• Draft syllabus due

2 weeks out

• Final syllabus due
