Employees who do not complete a Form I-9 within their first three days of work will not be able to continue working at the University until a Form I-9 has been completed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hr\/employee-resources\/i-9-process\/\">Form I-9 instructions<\/a> will be sent to the new employee\u2019s personal email prior to their start date. New employees have the option to complete their I-9 in-person with HR or remotely with an Authorized Representative. Original copies of the required documentation must be provided. A list of acceptable documentation will be included in the instructions. More information on acceptable documents can also be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/i-9-central\/form-i-9-acceptable-documents\">USCIS website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Given the complexity of immigration documents for foreign nationals (not a US citizen or lawful US permanent resident) and the need for clearance by the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO), we recommend that foreign nationals select the in-person option unless they will work fully remote (100%).
